"My fascination with Jazz ignited with seminal albums like Jimmy Smith's 'Bashin'', Cal Tjader's 'Several Shades of Jade', and Miles Davis's 'Miles Ahead'. The masterful arrangements by Oliver Nelson, Lalo Schifrin, and Gil Evans on these records laid the groundwork for my deep appreciation of this genre. A notable highlight captured in the PHOTO ALBUM is a snapshot of myself with Ed Shaughnessy, the drummer on both the Smith and Tjader albums. This personal connection adds a significant layer to my journey through Jazz history."
Living A Jazzy Life
"My journey in radio began back in 1980, and in 1988, I found myself at KKGO 105.1 in Los Angeles, CA. Despite changes in station format and various roles at other stations, my passion for Jazz led me to KJAZZ 88.1 in Long Beach, CA in 2007, where I proudly served as midday host for a decade. In 2013, I ventured into the digital realm by launching EYES ON JAZZ as a blog, driven by a desire to carve out my own path in sharing the beauty of Jazz. Today, through EYES ON JAZZ, I aim to enrich your life with a touch of Jazz, offering insights and experiences that celebrate this timeless genre."
